What has 21 Birds of a Feather sessions, 16 workshops and tutorials, 69 paper presentations, 7 panels, 50 lightning talks, 29 posters, 5 games - and more?

The Programme Committee was thrilled to receive so many creative and thought-provoking submissions. The result is a dynamic schedule featuring seven parallel tracks:

  • 3 Hybrid Tracks – Real-time and recorded sessions for both in-person and remote attendees, including the opening and closing ceremonies, three keynotes, six panels, two tutorials, the ever-popular Bake-off tool demo, and many papers, lightning talks, and poster previews.

  • 3 In-Person Tracks – Face-to-face sessions including eight workshops, three tutorials, 16 Birds of a Feather discussions, four games, additional papers, lightning talks, poster previews, and of course, social events.

  • 1 Virtual Track – Live and recorded virtual presentations of papers, a workshop and tutorial, five Birds of a Feather sessions, pre-recorded lightning talks, and the return of iPRES Radio.

Conference Overview

Monday 3 November is Workshop & Tutorial Day. Be sure to arrive early - you won’t want to miss the opening Pōwhiri, our official welcome to Wellington and the start of the conference.

Each day from Tuesday to Thursday highlights one of the iPRES 2025 themes:

  • Tuesday 4 November – Haerenga (Journey): Exploring the processes, challenges, and lessons of our digital preservation paths.

  • Wednesday 5 November – Tūtaki (Encounter): Engaging with new ideas, disruptions, and reimagining long-held practices.

  • Thursday 6 November – Tūhono (Connect): Celebrating the power of communities, collaborations, and interdisciplinary exchange.

Our final day, Friday 7 November, offers Professional Visits to cultural heritage organisations across Wellington.

Ngā mihi nui - a big thank you to everyone who contributed your stories, experience, creativity, and knowledge to this exciting programme. Whether you’re joining us in Wellington or tuning in online, we can’t wait to welcome you to iPRES 2025 this November.
